About us
Based in Holland, a small team dedicated to bringing high performance equipment at the best value. We are a new company bringing together over 20 years of experience in astrophotography, electronics, coding and mechanical engineering skills. Our modest beginning was in modifying webcams and DSLRs, we are producing our own cameras designed from the ground up, these will be available in the near future. These cameras will have ExView sensors as standard and will be stellar performers in astrophotography.
Our Team
Mark Woodward
Mark is an electro/mechanical engineer by trade, this is a profession that took him all over Europe. Eventually he settled in the Netherlands and currently works as a design engineer for off-shore safety equipment. About seven years ago he took a look through a telescope for the first time, and has been building and modifying custom parts for about six and a half years. He has always had an affinity for mechanical and electronic systems, as well as the sciences and technology. Currently he is studying for a bachelors in astronomy/physics and advances in his own studies in instrumentation such as CCD and CMOS camera systems.
Natallia Kokash
Natallia holds a master degree in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from Belarussian State University and PhD in Information Science and Technology from University of Trento, Italy. She moved to the Netherlands in 2008 and since then works at Centrum Wiskunde Informatica (CWI) in Amsterdam and University of Leiden on various projects related to software verification, architectural design, semantics of programming and modeling languages and data visualization. She has several years of experience as software developer and leacturer in software engineering. Being interested in science and photography in general, Natallia takes part in various events involving JTW astronomy, helps us with image post-processing, product development and web site maintainance.
Emil Kraaikamp
Emil studied at the University of Groningen and has a bachelor's in Artificial Intelligence. He is currently writing his Master thesis for the study Human-Machine Communication. In the summer of 2006 a friend of his introduced him to astrophotography by showing a picture of Saturn that he made with a small 11 cm Newtonian telescope and a cheap webcam. Emil was really impressed by the results, and also wanted to start imaging the planets. After using a 7 and 13 cm telescope for only a few months, he quickly learned that - at least in astronomy - size does matter, and in April 2007 bought a second hand 10" F/4.5 Meade Starfinder EQ telescope. Since that day he has used modified webcams to make stanning images of deepsky objects, and other videocamera's to image objects within our solar system. You can see his images at his personal web site as well as our Gallery.
Trial period
We are so confident in our CCD cameras that we offer a 30 day trial period.
